TL;DR
Java Software Engineer (Data Products): Designing and implementing high-performance data pipelines, billing infrastructure, and self-serve data infrastructure and APIs with an accent on database performance, scalability, and system resilience. What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion and processing systems.
- Develop and maintain APIs for a seamless data experience for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing schema design and troubleshooting queries.
- Develop and maintain software products utilizing GCP services such as PubSub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow.
- Build and maintain reliable billing architecture within an event-driven environment.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, infrastructure, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver data-centric solutions.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Java development, particularly in data-intensive environments and building data products.
- Background in managing both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployment.
- Familiarity with data modelling and schema design for operational or analytical systems.
- Comfortable working with REST APIs and microservices architectures.
- Understanding of real-time stream processing frameworks (e.g., PubSub, Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming).
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python for data automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with workflow/orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
- Exposure to cloud-based data services (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure also considered).
- Awareness of data governance and compliance principles (GDPR, ISO27001).
