Cloud Network Engineer

Location: Remote within APAC region (Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane)

What you will do

• Write code to automate and operate large proxy fleets across multiple global regions.
• Respond to operational events and apply mitigations to increase network reliability.
• Contribute to large projects delivering new networking features company-wide.
• Design and implement new network features and improvements.
• Investigate and improve security, reliability, and cost efficiency of cloud networking services.
• Mentor and coach engineers, contribute to hiring processes.

Requirements

• Must be located in APAC region (Australia) or able to work remotely within this region
• 3+ years experience operating high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable distributed software in production.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including load balancers, proxies, and CDNs.
• Backend engineering experience in Python, Go, or Rust.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservice architectures.
• Experience working with open-source proxies like Envoy, Nginx, and Squid.
