What you will do

• Develop and extend deterministic or stochastic optimization models for hybrid energy systems.
• Turn energy challenges into product capabilities from idea to production with engineering collaboration.
• Analyze energy system configurations and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Design control strategies converting optimization results into reliable EMS logic.
• Develop scenario simulations to test optimization strategies against real-world disturbances.
• Continuously refine models based on on-site feedback and performance KPIs.

Requirements

• Must be located in or near Munich, Germany.
• 5+ years experience in energy systems engineering, operations research, and optimization.
• Strong background in power and/or thermal systems with industrial or distributed energy resources exposure.
• Deep understanding of electricity markets, energy economics, and related algorithmic trading or VPP operation.
• Proficiency in Python, optimization frameworks (Pyomo, Linopy), and data processing (Pandas).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

• Experience with time-series forecasting.
