TL;DR

Previs Artist: Crafting the visual backbone of high-end CG productions by creating staging, camera layouts, and animatics with an accent on visual storytelling and cinematography. Focus on finalizing camera motions, shot creation, and ensuring smooth delivery within the production pipeline.

Location: Home office flexibility and a beautiful workspace in Graphisoft Park if you are located in Hungary, or freelancers across the globe are considered if you can overlap the CET/CEST working hours. You must be located and working according to the EU time zone.

What you will do

• Create staging, camera layouts, and animatics based on storyboards and directorial guidance.
• Participate in on-set mocap shoots when needed, under the direction of the Assistant Director.
• Build scenes using existing layouts and assets, including placement of key characters, props, and FX.
• Add rough lighting elements and atmosphere, and block out major animation beats.
• Finalize camera motions, create shots, blastouts, and manage version updates.
• Follow technical requirements within DIGIC’s pipeline and collaborate with other departments for smooth delivery.

Requirements

• Strong visual storytelling skills and a good sense of rhythm and cinematography.
• Understanding of camera work, editing, and animation basics.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
• Experience using Maya, at least one editing software (e.g., Premiere), and Photoshop.
• Mid-level English proficiency (B2).
• At least 1–2 years of experience in a previs artist role.
• Must be located and working according to the EU time zone.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of film theory and asset production workflows.
• On-set mocap or layout experience.
• Comfort working with evolving pipelines and creative input from multiple departments.
