What you will do

• Deliver an exceptional product experience for hotel guests and accommodation providers globally.
• Develop and maintain existing codebase using Java and PHP.
• Lead discussions on complex technical concepts and requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Design, build, and operate secure, high-quality, performant, and scalable payment systems.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to architectural decisions impacting scalability and long-term flexibility.

Requirements

• 7+ years of web application software engineering experience of Java (Spring).
• 3+ years of PHP (preferred) or other programming languages like Python.
• 5+ years of production experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, optimizing database performance for high-volume applications.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and developing event-driven services.
• Hands-on experience with IaC (ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Terraform), AWS, and Kafka.
• Experience in the Payments domain and within an organization focused on high availability, scalability, security, automation, and observability.
• Work authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the location where the position is located without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in engineering software for large-scale solutions, utilizing modern tooling, and large-scale Domain Driven Design.
• Solid understanding of secure software engineering with experience in regulated environments; familiarity with PCI-DSS.
• Experience working with a remote-first and globally distributed team.
