Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. Salary ranges also provided for Colorado, New York City, and Washington state.

Salary: Colorado range: $138,000 - $207,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission). New York City salary range: $154,000 - $231,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission). San Francisco Bay Area of California salary range: $154,000 - $231,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission). California (outside of SF Bay Area) salary range: $138,000 - $207,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission). Washington state salary range: $138,000 - $207,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission).

What you will do

• Design and build backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, and GraphQL.
• Own mid-sized projects end-to-end from shaping requirements through launch.
• Drive improvements to systems powering pricing, packaging, trials, entitlements, and monetization.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver reliable, user-impacting infrastructure.
• Build instrumentation and internal tooling to help measure impact and unlock faster iteration.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and clarity of core growth systems.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and help evolve the platform as products grow.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience building and maintaining production backend or full-stack systems.
• Comfortable designing and implementing APIs, services, and data models.
• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable code in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Ability to take a loosely defined problem and drive it toward a shipped solution.
• Communicate clearly across disciplines and keep stakeholders aligned as work evolves.
• Enjoy thinking in systems, abstractions, and long-term maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js backend systems at scale.
• Experience with GraphQL schemas.
• Familiarity with React.js and comfortable contributing full-stack when needed.
• Experience with infrastructure for growth (packaging, entitlements, trials, monetization, experimentation).
• Strong product intuition.
