What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize ML models for localization using camera, LiDAR, and radar data.
• Develop high-performance training and evaluation workflows with PyTorch and distributed infrastructure.
• Collaborate with robotics and mapping engineers to integrate localization models into the autonomy stack.
• Analyze failure cases and improve model robustness through rigorous experimentation.
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, and documentation across ML and autonomy teams.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Montreal, Ann Arbor, or remotely in Canada or the United States.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ to 6+ years of applied ML engineering experience in Autonomous Vehicles or Robotics.
• Experience with localization systems such as LiDAR-based localization, visual odometry, SLAM, or map-based pose estimation.
• Proficiency with PyTorch, Python or C++, and modern ML tooling for training and inference.
• Strong understanding of 3D geometry, probabilistic estimation, and robotics fundamentals.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed computing tools like Ray or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of embedded and real-time constraints for on-vehicle deployment.
• Experience in simulation, synthetic data generation, and uncertainty-aware ML modeling.
• Contributions to open-source robotics, perception, or ML frameworks.
