What you will do

• Own payment orchestration for bank rails and cards, building idempotent, fault-tolerant APIs and webhook processing.
• Build a real-time risk engine combining rules, machine learning scores, sanctions/KYC hits, and blockchain analytics.
• Implement KYC/AML primitives and develop a double-entry ledger and reconciliation system for audit-ready journaling.
• Integrate third-party providers like Plaid, Stripe, Adyen, Chainalysis, and TRM behind reliable interfaces.
• Manage crypto delivery safely and efficiently, including hot-wallet flow and transaction confirmations.
• Enhance system reliability with SLOs, circuit breakers, monitoring, and participate in 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in New York, NY for full-time, in-person work.
• Experienced onramp specialist with end-to-end fiat-to-crypto ramp building experience.
• Expertise in high-throughput, low-latency distributed backend systems, payments, or fintech risk.
• Fluent in Rust, Go, or TypeScript/Node/Python with strong systems programming skills.
• Deep knowledge of Postgres, Redis, event/OLAP stores (Kafka/Redpanda, ClickHouse), and API best practices.
• Security-minded with knowledge of key management, HSM/KMS, and secrets hygiene.

Nice to have

• Experience with ACH/NACHA returns, chargebacks, 3DS/SCA, Apple/Google Pay.
• Open Banking experience with Plaid, TrueLayer, or Tink.
• Risk/fraud experience with rule engines, device fingerprinting, or dispute workflows.
• Compliance experience with sanctions/PEP screening, Travel Rule networks, or SAR/STR integration.
• Infrastructure experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker/Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
