Principal Software Engineer (AI): Defining and leading the strategy for authentication, authorization, and account systems across Copilot experiences with an accent on secure identity flows and defenses against emerging threats like prompt injection. Focus on secure delegation, enabling safe orchestration of actions across devices and services, and influencing technical direction across a large, distributed system.

Location: Must work from a designated hirify.global office at least four days a week if living within 50 miles (U.S.) of that location

Salary: USD $163,000 – $296,400 per year

What you will do

• Define the end-to-end identity vision for consumer Copilot, covering user/account models, sign-in, session management, and token issuance/validation.
• Drive common authentication/SSO patterns and SDKs for Windows, Edge, web, iOS, and Android.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, privacy, and identity teams across Copilot and MAI to drive improvements in authentication, identity, and security.
• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key authentication metrics across Copilot and MAI.
• Align with central hirify.global Account roadmaps, influence platform capabilities, and land them in Copilot and MAI consumer scenarios at scale.
• Define and document authentication patterns and requirements for AI-powered, agentic flows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Experience integrating with hirify.global Account, and familiarity with consumer identity features.
• Experience with consumer identity lifecycle management and privacy controls.
• Leadership experience mentoring senior engineers and driving adoption of platform standards across product teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Shipped identity flows and SDKs across multiple consumer client platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, web).
• Experience embedding privacy-by-design and meeting consumer compliance expectations for Copilot-class workloads.
