TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (AI): Defining and leading the strategy for authentication, authorization, and account systems across Copilot experiences with an accent on secure identity flows and privacy-first systems. Focus on tackling novel risks at the frontier of agential AI, applying proven solutions and inventing new ones.

Location: New York, United States. Expected to work from a designated hirify.global office at least four days a week if living within 50 miles.

Salary: USD $163,000 – $296,400 per year.

What you will do

• Define the end‑to‑end identity vision for consumer Copilot, covering user/account models, sign‑in, session management and cross‑device experiences.
• Drive common authentication/SSO patterns and SDKs for Windows, Edge, web, iOS, and Android.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, privacy, and identity teams across Copilot and MAI to drive improvements in authentication, identity, and security.
• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key authentication metrics across Copilot and MAI.
• Define and document authentication patterns and requirements for AI-powered, agentic flows.
• Ship secure, well‑tested, maintainable code and frameworks that other teams can adopt quickly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience integrating with hirify.global Account, and familiarity with consumer identity features.
• Shipped identity flows and SDKs across multiple consumer client platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, web).
• Familiarity with consumer identity lifecycle management and privacy controls.
• Experience embedding privacy‑by‑design and meeting consumer compliance expectations for Copilot-class workloads.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Track record mentoring senior engineers and driving adoption of platform standards across many product teams.
