What you will do

• Own and evolve backend architecture for a large-scale software platform.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to ensure alignment and scalability.
• Set technical direction and contribute to key design decisions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve automation and release processes.
• Mentor and coach engineers to raise backend development standards.

Requirements

• Location: Leeds, UK with hybrid work (2 days onsite per week)
• 7+ years experience in backend or platform engineering, including senior/staff level
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, AWS (EKS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, Terraform)
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience leading technical direction across teams
