Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid working in Manchester, London, or Bristol (minimum 50% in office, including one day a month in Bristol)

What you will do

• Engage in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and production support.
• Collaborate in a distributed team with a focus on remote and asynchronous communication.
• Iteratively improve new products while adhering to agreed design and architectural principles.
• Continuously seek improvements in products, processes, and practices, focusing on efficiency.
• Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
• Work across different specialisms as needed to ensure tasks are completed.

Requirements

• Excellent programming and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of relevant software design patterns and paradigms (OOP, DDD, MVC, microservices, containers/orchestration, or event-driven architecture).
• Ability to create straightforward and well-tested code.
• Ownership of tasks and problems, including knowing when to ask for help.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes (training available for Go).
• Experience working with Investment or Pensions platforms.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Vue, Dart, and Flutter.
