TL;DR

Linux & Applications Specialist (Cybersecurity): Designing, building, and maintaining vendor applications for robust network management solutions on customer-facing secure platforms with an accent on integrating products across the operating system and applications infrastructure. Focus on identifying design changes, improvements, and updates to keep products within supportability lifecycles.

Location: This job role is based near the M4 Corridor within a 30-60 minute commute from Swindon. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.

What you will do

• Design, build, develop, test, and maintain vendor applications for network management solutions on secure platforms.
• Integrate products across the operating system and applications infrastructure, building assured end-to-end solutions.
• Identify and implement design changes, improvements, and updates to keep products within supportability lifecycles.
• Undertake vendor engagement to ensure application software performance and functionality through release updates.
• Produce high and low-level design documentation and system build guides.

Requirements

• Advanced experience in Linux-based operating systems, including security hardening, OS upgrades, patch deployment, and use of security scanning tools.
• Experience with deployment, upgrade, and configuration of multi-vendor applications, integrating them with operating systems, security, and monitoring tools, Active Directory, and backup solutions.
• Experience building and deploying network and infrastructure management and monitoring tools with strong knowledge of SNMP, syslog, and IP networking, with OS and network troubleshooting skills.
• You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting this role.
• You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAN storage solutions and networking.
• IP network design, including Juniper, Cisco configuration.
• Experience in using Advanced Microsoft Active Directory, including Group Policy definition and deployment, including OS and application integration.
• Integration with other supporting systems such as monitoring, patch update, and Anti-Virus.
• PKI infrastructure design, build & deployment.
