TL;DR

Principal Data Scientist: Leading design and deployment of AI/ML solutions in marketplace and fintech domains with an accent on generative AI, scalable ML infrastructure, and cross-functional technical leadership. Focus on architecting cloud-native ML workflows, mentoring teams, and driving strategic AI initiatives including GenAI and LLM integration.

Location: Hybrid in Munich, Germany (2 days onsite per week)

What you will do

• Shape strategic direction and vision of Data Science with focus on AI/ML and GenAI opportunities.
• Lead design and deployment of predictive and generative AI models for personalization, pricing, search, and optimization.
• Collaborate with product leaders to align ML initiatives with business goals and drive innovation.
• Architect scalable ML infrastructure and automated workflows using cloud-native tools (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Ensure performance and compliance of production AI models through governance and monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid role based in Munich, Germany
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 10+ years experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI with production impact.
• Expert programming skills in Python and SQL; proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with GenAI/LLM technologies including Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs.
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Jenkins, Airflow).
• Proven MLOps skills including CI/CD, model monitoring, versioning, and automated retraining.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
