Software Engineer

TL;DR
Software Engineer: Working with broadcast hardware and software to provide tooling and workflows for Broadcast Engineers with an accent on video, audio, networking technology and control systems. Focus on designing and implementing new features, writing production-ready code, and collaborating with product owners and users.
Location: Based at Andrew’s HUB in Southbank, Melbourne. May require occasional travel and weekend work.

What you will do
- Design and implement new features for broadcast tooling and workflows.
- Write secure, production-ready code primarily in C++ and GoLang, adapting to other languages as needed.
- Write tests for new and existing code, contributing to the CI workflow.
- Troubleshoot and profile code for bugs or performance issues.
- Collaborate with product owners and users to refine user stories.
- Provide documentation to users and commissioning teams.
Requirements
- Multiple years of software development experience in C / C++.
- Quickly familiarize yourself with new codebases and frameworks.
- Broad understanding of coding and programming languages.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (HTTP, SDP, RTP) and broadcast standards (NMOS, ST2022, ST2110).
- Experience in Realtime video, audio processing and control systems.
- Must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job.
Nice to have
- Experience in Database, Data modelling, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Containerisation.
