Location: Must be physically present in Berlin, Germany office

What you will do
- Lead design and architecture of new EC2 instance features and core capabilities across global teams.
- Drive virtualization security initiatives to enhance platform integrity and data protection.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent through architecture reviews and hands-on support.
- Influence the technological roadmap of EC2 instances and advocate innovative solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product and program managers to deliver customer value on schedule.
- Provide technical leadership on strategic projects and prototype new concepts.
Requirements
- Must be located in Berlin, Germany and work onsite daily.
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with low-level system software, operating system kernels, or hypervisors.
- Proficiency in CPU architectures such as x86 and ARM.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with experience growing engineering teams.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience influencing architecture across multiple teams and VPs.
- Expertise in virtualization security and kernel/hypervisor security enhancements.
- Experience with PCIe internals and software-hardware interaction complexities.
