Senior Fullstack Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Full-Stack Engineer (React/Node.js): Building and optimizing high-performance web platform solutions for core gaming products with an accent on full-stack development, API design, and database schema. Focus on creating robust client-side and server-side applications, ensuring data consistency and security, and supporting game teams with scalable development tools.

Location: Hybrid in Portugal. If based in the Lisbon metropolitan area, expect 1-3 days onsite per week. Candidates not residing in Portugal will be onboarded as full-time contractors through an international payroll provider. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are not provided.

What you will do

• Develop scalable and high-performance full-stack applications and systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side and client-side applications for live games.
• Create tools to support and accelerate internal game development teams.
• Design database schemas and implement security best practices for data protection.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation.
• Contribute actively to agile processes and team goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer.
• 3+ years with server-side runtime environments, specifically Node.js.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend architectures and patterns for scalable distributed systems.
• Experience working in an agile development environment with a strong focus on code quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with building or maintaining online games or high-traffic applications.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
