Senior Lead Asterisk Developer

What you will do

• Design and implement advanced Asterisk dialplans and custom modules.
• Debug and fix issues in Asterisk core, modules, and C-based extensions.
• Analyze stack traces, crashes, memory issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Work with SIP signaling, RTP, SDP negotiation, codecs, and NAT traversal.
• Manage trunk groups, carriers, PSTN routing, and failover logic.
• Participate in architecture decisions for resilient and scalable telephony clusters.

Requirements

• At least 7+ years of production experience with large-scale deployments (60k+ active users)
• Good level of English (B2 or higher)
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud environments (AWS preferred), Linux, and networking.
• Contributions to Asterisk open source project.
• For Lead level: technical leadership and cross-team collaboration skills.
