Focus on designing, building, and implementing visually compelling effects while maintaining performance and stylistic alignment with the project.

Location: Remote available within the UK with team onsite days in the Cambridge office approx. 4 times per year

What you will do

• Create fantasy style visual effects including explosions, magic, weather, and character abilities.
• Develop and evolve the VFX style to fit the game world.
• Implement real-time gameplay and cinematic VFX with an optimized approach.
• Collaborate with Animators and Technical Artists for smooth blending of animations and VFX.
• Establish a clean VFX pipeline and contribute creative ideas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues related to VFX behavior and rendering.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in the games industry.
• Strong artistic fundamentals: colour theory, motion, timing, and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating shaders and materials for VFX.
• Ability to work independently and take direction.
• A curated reel showcasing gameplay and environmental effects.
