Senior C++ Unreal Software Engineer (Unreal Engine): Building and evolving an Unreal-powered graphics pipeline for real-time graphics in live sports environments with an accent on designing and delivering core systems and improving performance, scalability, and reliability. Focus on solving complex real-time graphics problems, developing AR/VR and backend graphics systems, and integrating Unreal Engine with in-house tools.

Location: Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in the office. Office locations: Basingstoke, London, or Bristol (UK) or Hungary.

Salary: £58,810 – £80,190 per annum.

What you will do

• Design, architect, and implement high-quality Unreal Engine solutions.
• Solve complex real-time graphics problems in live sports contexts.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across graphics systems.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to design decisions.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
• Develop and optimise AR/VR and backend graphics systems, ensuring code quality.

Requirements

• Strong experience using Unreal Engine (ideally UE5), with C++ and Blueprints.
• Advanced C++ expertise (C++11/14/17) for clean, maintainable, high-performance code.
• Experience with graphics APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
• Shader development experience using HLSL and/or GLSL, and solid 3D mathematics knowledge.
• Hands-on experience working with AR and/or VR pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile environments and strong familiarity with Git.
• Experience mentoring others and leading by example.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, attending the Basingstoke, London, Bristol, or Hungary office at least 2 days per week.
