What you will do

• Develop signals to measure the performance and driving qualities of the Waymo driver.
• Use simulation and real-world driving logs to assess driving performance.
• Design methods to connect onboard software changes with simulated outcomes.
• Champion code health and best practices in a complex code base.
• Analyze data to improve metric quality and interpretability.
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to deliver evaluation products.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience with large code bases in C++, Python, and SQL.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to navigate complex systems.
• Experience in statistical analyses and building data processing pipelines.
• Quant/data fluency is a top requirement.
