TL;DR
Senior Desktop UI Software Engineer (Qt/QML): Designing and developing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for advanced medical devices with an accent on real-time high-performance visualization software applications. Focus on optimizing software performance, implementing robust testing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a regulated environment.
Location: Minimum of 4 days a week onsite in Newton, Massachusetts, United States of America. Candidates must be local to the Greater Boston area or have the ability to relocate for the position.
Salary: $122,400.00 - $183,600.00 USD

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, real-time visualization applications.
- Take ownership of key software features from concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, QA, DevOps) for seamless integration.
- Optimize software performance for low latency, high reliability, and scalability.
- Implement and maintain robust software testing strategies, including automated testing.
- Document designs, coding practices, and development workflows for clarity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years, Master’s with 2 years, or PhD with 0 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in desktop UI development (e.g., Qt/QML, PyQt, Open GL, Unity, GTK, WPF, or similar).
- Experience building real-time or data-rich interfaces for technical or clinical applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with software version control systems, such as Git.
Nice to have
- Expertise working in Python/C++ environments, ideally with ROS or device-level comms.
- Experience working with UI designers and implementing UI designed in Figma or similar.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD tools and practices.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
