What you will do

• Lead and grow the R2 Gateway engineering team, setting technical direction and hiring to expand.
• Own the developer experience of R2, including API compatibility, Workers integration, data migration, and custom domains.
• Engage directly with developers and customers through calls, community forums, and blog posts.
• Drive a balanced roadmap focusing on feature delivery, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to leverage hirify.global’s global network capabilities.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work in Austin, Seattle, or London
• Minimum 5 years software engineering experience with developer-facing data systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams as manager or senior technical lead.
• Strong track record in shipping developer-facing features with API design and migration experience.
• Comfort engaging with developers via calls, forums, and open-source.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, TypeScript, and Rust.

Nice to have

• Experience with S3-compatible APIs, object storage, or cloud storage platforms.
• Experience building or improving data migration tools.
• Experience with edge networks or CDN architecture.
• Experience growing teams while delivering ambitious roadmaps.
