Data Engineer (Big Data)

What you will do

• Design efficient, data-intensive backend services to collect, process, and store petabytes of data, focusing on performance and scalability.
• Redesign and unify inherited data pipelines, transitioning to a streamlined, harmonized data architecture.
• Investigate, debug, and optimize system behavior across CPU, memory, I/O, and concurrency as data volumes grow.
• Lead large-scale projects involving complex systems and cutting-edge technologies.
• Develop innovative data formats and exchange mechanisms to optimize functionality and minimize costs.
• Share knowledge and mentor fellow engineers, contributing to the team's expertise.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with strong fundamentals in computer science and software engineering (data structures, concurrency, memory management, performance).
• Hands-on experience tackling large-scale, high-volume systems, understanding trade-offs for reliable scaling.
• Care about production quality, including testing, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure, and comfort with infrastructure as code.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in a flat team structure, actively contributing to technical challenges.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Go and/or Scala.
• Experience with ClickHouse and/or SingleStore.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience using Kafka.
