What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and product managers to deliver actionable data solutions.
• Translate business requirements into engineering tasks and participate in agile team processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Implement data quality checks and contribute to observability and testing practices.
• Document data sources, transformations, and architecture decisions for maintainability.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid role based in Edinburgh, United Kingdom
• Experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering focused on data.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with modern data tools like Databricks, Airflow, DBT, Spark, or Kafka.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
