Lead / Staff Fullstack (PHP+JS) - Web Performance Engineer

Location: Slovakia; remote from anywhere in Slovakia, hybrid, or office-based in Bratislava

Salary: from €5,000 per month plus annual bonus

hirify.global is building an engineering hub for a profitable global sports and betting affiliate marketing company whose platform serves over a billion visits annually across more than 100 countries and over 50 international clients.

What you will do

• Conduct technical audits across frontend and backend systems and translate findings into practical improvements.
• Lead optimisation of Core Web Vitals, page rendering, page weight, response times, caching, and application architecture.
• Design and build scalable capabilities for a white-labelled, multi-tenant platform using Domain-Driven Design.
• Modernise legacy systems incrementally, decide what to refactor or rewrite, and deliver new product features.
• Improve observability and monitoring while setting technical direction and engineering standards.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Staff-level or strong senior profile with hands-on coding experience and the ability to set technical direction.
• Fullstack experience working across both backend and frontend.
• Strong HTML and CSS skills; other technologies are not strict requirements.
• Experience making architectural decisions and owning technical direction.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale B2C or consumer-facing web applications.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimisation, including Core Web Vitals, page rendering, caching strategies, and application architecture.
• Experience conducting technical audits and turning findings into engineering improvements.
• Product engineering mindset, balancing technical quality with customer and business outcomes.
• Confidence working with legacy systems and improving them incrementally, plus strong communication skills and English for an international team.

Nice to have

• PHP with Laravel or Symfony and React or Vue experience.
• SEO-focused or high-traffic content platform experience.
• AWS and observability tooling experience.
• Experience in iGaming or sports betting, legacy system migrations, multi-tenant or platform architecture.
• Contentful and Tailwind experience.
