AI/ML Engineer (Gen AI)

Location: Poland; remote work available, with office work as an option.

What you will do

• Build and evolve shared AI capabilities, reusable services, and engineering accelerators for multiple construction software products.
• Design and operate production-grade AI systems, including LLM experiences, retrieval pipelines, tool use, orchestration layers, and agentic workflows.
• Create specifications, evaluations, interface definitions, and workflow contracts, and establish evaluation-driven development loops covering quality, reliability, latency, cost, and grounding.
• Partner with product, engineering, AI PM/PO, and business stakeholders to identify cross-product opportunities, integrate shared capabilities, and align technical decisions with measurable customer outcomes.
• Apply practices and guardrails for AI-assisted development, automated testing, reliability, observability, governance, security, and responsible production use.
• Prototype emerging AI approaches, turn validated concepts into scalable building blocks, and support engineers through collaboration, peer review, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant work on production-grade AI or data-intensive systems in complex delivery environments.
• Excellent Python programming skills.
• Proficiency in Azure; GCP or AWS experience is not required but is beneficial.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies and applications, including practical knowledge of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agents, trade-offs, limitations, and failure modes.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end AI systems across APIs, application services, data pipelines, retrieval layers, evaluation workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to define measurable AI quality criteria and evaluation approaches while balancing customer value, reliability, latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering, Spec-Driven Development, and modern developer tooling.
• Strong architectural judgment, cross-functional collaboration skills, and experience designing reusable patterns and shared capabilities without owning product-specific architecture decisions.
• Experience contributing from exploration and prototyping through production rollout and continuous improvement in agile environments; ability to support engineers, communicate technical complexity to stakeholders, and adapt to rapid changes in AI.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field; equivalent experience is considered for exceptional candidates.
