Senior Systems Engineer – Requirements & Engineering Governance

Salary: $135,035.83–$234,801.11 per year

What you will do

• Provide expert-level Systems Engineering Technical Advisor support within the Ground Enterprise Directorate.
• Drive development, decomposition, refinement, assessment, and traceability of enterprise and system-level requirements.
• Lead technical reviews of Requests for Change and engineering changes, assessing architecture alignment, interface dependencies, mission risk, and schedule impact.
• Facilitate Engineering Review Boards and support issue analysis, documentation, decision-making, and baseline management.
• Analyze cross-program dependencies and coordinate assessments across systems engineering, architecture, software, cybersecurity, and integration teams.
• Prepare executive-level technical assessments, decision packages, and briefings; advise Government leaders and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10–12 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 8–10 years; PhD with 5–7 years; or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience supporting complex, highly integrated systems or system-of-systems environments.
• Proven experience in requirements development and traceability, engineering change processes, Requests for Change, and configuration management.
• Experience facilitating technical reviews, Engineering Review Boards, or Configuration Control Boards and evaluating complex cross-system dependencies.
• Exceptional technical leadership, facilitation, writing, and briefing skills, with the confidence and diplomacy to provide independent advice to senior Government stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense ground systems and architectures.
• Experience with requirements and configuration management tools such as DOORS, Jira, Confluence, or ServiceNow.
• Experience with interface management, enterprise integration, and system modernization.
• Familiarity with Agile, Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, or DevSecOps environments.
