Company

hirify.global is a Series A company developing autonomous ground-handling vehicles for airlines and ground service providers worldwide.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain custom Ubuntu/Linux distributions for real-time, safety-critical autonomous vehicle workloads.
  • Optimize ROS 2 DDS middleware, including Cyclone DDS and Fast DDS, for low-latency, high-throughput multi-sensor data flows.
  • Develop and maintain kernel modules, user-space drivers, network interfaces, and integrations for LiDARs, cameras, radars, GNSS/INS, CAN, and other vehicle interfaces.
  • Implement observability and logging for system health, performance, and resource utilization across lab and field deployments.
  • Collaborate with autonomy, perception, and controls engineers to profile CPU/GPU usage and remove system bottlenecks.
  • Harden production platforms with security patches, secure boot, OTA updates, and CI/CD automation for OS images and driver packages; provide on-call support during field trials and customer pilots.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience developing or maintaining Linux-based embedded or robotics platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of Ubuntu or Linux, including package management, systemd, networking, and kernel configuration.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, including experience writing or debugging kernel modules and user-space drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS 1 or ROS 2 in a production or research setting.
  • Familiarity with USB, Ethernet, CAN, PCIe, SPI, and I2C communication buses and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of real-time performance tuning, profiling tools such as perf, eBPF, and tracing, and resource-constrained optimization.
  • Experience with Git, Docker/OCI containers, and automated build systems such as Yocto, Buildroot, or similar.

Nice to have

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, drones, or other safety-critical robotic systems.
  • Experience configuring ptp4l, v4l2/GStreamer, Nvidia Orin/Jetson platforms, or PREEMPT_RT and other real-time Linux patches.
  • Knowledge of DDS internals, QoS tuning, GPU acceleration with CUDA or Vulkan, and heterogeneous compute scheduling.
  • Experience with functional safety libraries and tools, including MISRA and ISO 26262 compliance workflows.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup and supporting field deployments at airports or other industrial sites.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work in Atlanta, US.
  • Work spans laboratory, field, airport, and customer-pilot deployments.
  • Provide on-call support for platform components during field trials and customer pilots.
  • Collaborate with autonomy, perception, and controls engineering teams.
