Digital Development Producer, Drama

Salary: £42,000–£52,000 per year plus £5,441 London Weighting.

What you will do

• Originate and develop scripted digital drama ideas, new formats, original IP, spin-offs and short-form concepts.
• Take projects from initial concept through development towards pitch, commission or greenlight, preparing treatments and development materials for platforms and commissioners.
• Build relationships with established and emerging writers, performers, creators, digital talent, commissioners, buyers and platforms.
• Identify emerging formats, audience behaviours and trends across short-form, vertical, social-first and platform-native storytelling.
• Use audience insight, platform analytics and performance data to shape creative decisions, content strategies and audience growth.
• Produce and oversee digital content, pilots and proof-of-concept projects while working with editorial, production and creative teams on legal, copyright, compliance, budget and schedule requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience developing scripted drama and shaping stories, characters, formats and ideas from concept through development to pitch, greenlight or commission.
• Expert knowledge of the digital landscape and differences between broadcast, short-form, social-first, vertical and platform-native content, including platforms, commissioners and emerging trends.
• Experience developing and producing scripted digital content, including pilots, short-form, social-first, vertical and/or platform-native content, within production, budget and schedule requirements.
• Strong writing and script-editing skills, experience generating and developing drama ideas, and a good understanding of the drama production lifecycle.
• Established relationships across digital drama with commissioners, writers, creators and emerging talent, plus awareness of market, audience and creative trends.
• Experience managing and growing social media channels through content strategy, publishing, audience engagement and performance analysis across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
• Strong understanding of social platform analytics and audience insights, with experience using data to inform content development, optimise performance and drive audience growth.
• Experience producing and delivering digital-first content from initial idea through publication while meeting budgets, schedules and platform requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital extensions or spin-offs from established drama IP.
• Experience with original YouTube or platform-native drama.
• Experience with vertical or micro drama, scripted digital shorts, social-first storytelling or original content commissioned specifically for digital audiences.
