Data Quality Engineer (Sales & Finance)

What you will do

• Design and improve group-wide data quality controls for Sales and Finance data products, covering completeness, accuracy, consistency, validity, timeliness, and uniqueness.
• Translate business rules into measurable quality rules, automated tests, monitoring, alerts, dashboards, scorecards, issue logs, and service-level indicators.
• Analyse anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate remediation with data owners, source-system teams, and data product teams.
• Embed automated checks into data pipelines to catch defects before they reach reports, analytics, or AI use cases.
• Define critical data elements, validation standards, quality thresholds, ownership, and escalation paths within the data governance framework.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and reusable data quality components.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in data quality, data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with data profiling, validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and automated testing.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and pipelines, ideally Snowflake, including data modelling and transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Knowledge of data quality dimensions, metadata, lineage, and data governance principles.
• Understanding of Sales and Finance processes and data, including customer and lead management, revenue, pricing, costs, profitability, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Python, version control, and CI/CD practices.
• Practical use of AI tools for data profiling, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and documentation.
• Ability to explain quality issues in a business-oriented way. Very good English is required.
