Senior Test Strategist

What you will do

• Define and implement a practical test strategy covering unit, component, API, contract, integration, system, non-functional, and end-to-end testing.
• Establish testability requirements for observability, diagnostics, automation, test data, environments, isolation, anonymisation, cleanup, and reporting.
• Work with architects and DevOps teams to implement automated tests, CI/CD integration, quality gates, and testability improvements.
• Design and validate end-to-end product and customer-delivery flows involving configurations, integrations, external systems, and critical business journeys.
• Define testing ownership, responsibilities, tooling, and usage of smoke, regression, negative, performance, resilience, security, and production-verification tests.
• Coach teams and create guidance for developers, DevOps teams, OEM customers, customer test teams, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Broad, hands-on experience defining and implementing test strategies for distributed, cloud-native, or service-based platforms.
• Strong knowledge of test strategy, test architecture, risk-based testing, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, testability requirements, and quality gates.
• Practical experience with unit, component, API, contract, integration, system, end-to-end, customer-delivery, and non-functional testing, including performance, resilience, security, and compliance.
• Experience with observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, correlation IDs, and diagnostics.
• Experience with test data management, anonymisation, isolation, cleanup, test environments, service virtualisation, mocks, stubs, and disposable infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, APIs, databases, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience with migration, modernisation, or platform transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of BDD/Gherkin, test pyramids, and test quadrants.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, DevOps teams, product teams, professional services, customers, and suppliers; communicate clearly and coach others.
