Senior Analyst, Macro Research (AI)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; work arrangement includes an on-site and remote proportion to be discussed during the interview.

Annualized base salary: $102,700–$133,200, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop applied macro research and portfolio perspectives for Global Asset Management.
• Produce timely research, recommendations, and strategy conclusions focused on currency markets.
• Assess global macroeconomic, policy, and market developments to identify portfolio risks and opportunities.
• Translate research into actionable analysis for portfolio managers, including scenario assessment and risk positioning.
• Use econometric and quantitative tools, including AI where appropriate, to test ideas and support currency research.
• Communicate investment views clearly while meeting regulatory, compliance, and securities-registration requirements.

Requirements

• At least seven years of experience producing macroeconomic or market analysis within financial markets.
• Strong understanding of global macroeconomics, central banking, currencies, and capital markets.
• Ability to connect economic, policy, and market developments to investment implications and make well-supported recommendations under uncertainty.
• Proficiency with quantitative and research tools such as Python and Power BI.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and verbally, adapt messages to different audiences, and contribute to investment discussions.
• Initiative, resilience, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure, ambiguity, and limited guidance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Master’s degree in economics, financial engineering, quantitative methods, or a related field.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

Nice to have

• CFA designation or progress toward completion.
• Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to improve research depth, workflow efficiency, and communication.
