Fraud Operations Intern (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Brazil or Bogotá, Colombia; Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:30 pm local time.

Salary: $800 USD gross per month; paid internship.

What you will do

• Monitor real-time transactions and customer behavior flagged for fraud or abuse.
• Investigate transactions and account patterns using internal policies, review methodologies, systems, tools, and data analysis.
• Block fraudulent or risky users and clear false-positive flags from automated systems and Customer Support escalations.
• Research fraud trends and user behavior to contribute to machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.
• Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineers to improve fraud prevention mechanisms, processes, and tools.
• Resolve queued cases within established SLAs and handle internal and external escalations professionally.

Requirements

• Experience analyzing data and making impactful decisions in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong business judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision after training.
• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; candidates must be comfortable using AI to improve productivity, research, and communication.
• Ability to work full-time Monday–Friday during the stated local working hours.
