Working Student - Automated Testing (Droneport) (m/f/d) (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design and build a hardware-in-the-loop test setup for a real Droneport inside a protective cage, using controlled drone movement.
• Connect and control hardware, sensors and interfaces with Python.
• Develop repeatable automated tests for stationary and moving-drone scenarios with clear pass/fail criteria.
• Capture logs and measurements, investigate failures and document test results.
• Explore controlled wind or rain simulation and integrate automated tests into the development workflow and CI/CD where practical.

Requirements

• Currently studying electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, computer science or a related field, with solid programming experience.
• Good Python skills and an interest in applying software to physical systems.
• Familiarity with Linux and Git, plus a basic understanding of CI/CD.
• Interest in mechatronic systems, sensors and hardware-software communication.
• Willingness to assemble, wire, test and troubleshoot hardware in practical work.
• Ability to work independently and systematically, take initiative and communicate findings clearly.
• Comfortable communicating in English and interested in contributing for approximately one year.

Nice to have

• Experience controlling hardware with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson or similar platforms.
