Focus on configuring NI PXI and DEWESoft systems, maintaining NIST-traceable calibration programs, troubleshooting complete signal chains, and reviewing post-test data.
Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States; up to 10% travel within the continental United States.
Base salary: $135,000–$165,000 USD annually.
Company
hirify.global develops mission-critical space, defense, and national security technologies.
What you will do
Design, procure, install, calibrate, and validate instrumentation for pressure, temperature, strain, vibration, shock, thrust, mass flow, and high-speed transient measurements.
Build and operate DAQ systems using NI PXI, CompactDAQ, DEWESoft, or equivalent platforms, including channel setup, triggering, sampling, and live monitoring.
Author measurement system plans, sensor selection documents, wiring diagrams, channel lists, calibration packages, test plans, and test reports.
Support test stand design and commissioning, sensor and SCADA/DAQ integration, post-test data reduction, quality review, and troubleshooting across the full signal chain.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians in instrumentation, calibration, DAQ configuration, and safe sensor handling.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline with 7 years of instrumentation and data acquisition engineering experience; or a relevant master’s degree with 5 years of experience; or 11 years of hands-on instrumentation engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
Hands-on experience designing, building, instrumenting, and validating multichannel systems across pressure, temperature, strain, vibration, shock, thrust, and high-speed transient measurements in aerospace, defense, or another high-consequence test environment.
Extensive experience configuring and operating NI PXI, NI CompactDAQ, DEWESoft, or equivalent DAQ platforms during live test events.
Experience maintaining instrumentation calibration programs, including sensor calibration, NIST-traceable records, and calibration asset management.
Experience authoring wiring diagrams, channel lists, calibration packages, measurement system plans, and instrumentation sections of formal test plans and reports.
Commitment to data integrity, measurement accuracy, and safety in environments governed by OSHA, ITAR, and energetic or hazardous materials test standards.

Must be able to lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds and work while standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching with required personal protective equipment.
Nice to have
Experience with solid rocket motor, liquid propulsion, or other energetic system testing, including test stand safety and high-consequence test protocols.
Proficiency with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, MATLAB, or equivalent tools for DAQ programming, automated test sequencing, or post-test analysis.
