Sr. Controls and Automation Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Pensacola, Florida, United States; travel up to 10% to other Cytiva manufacturing sites and factory acceptance tests.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and qualify the electrical portions of membrane manufacturing equipment.
• Provide programming support, troubleshoot electrical systems, and select components for engineering projects.
• Design electrical systems and produce detailed electrical documentation.
• Lead or collaborate with cross-functional teams through concept, design, procurement, installation, and qualification.
• Manage equipment vendors, supervise contractors, and support installation qualification.
• Drive continuous improvements in equipment performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.
• Experience with control panel design, PLC programming, and HMI programming.
• 5+ years of industrial engineering experience, including hands-on work on manufacturing floors or with equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or EPLAN.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across desk-based design, field installation, and manufacturing-floor activities.
• Willingness to work in challenging environments, including high heat and areas under equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with classified electrical hazardous locations, including Class 1, Division 1 and 2, and standards for electrical components used in those environments.
