Network Engineer (Campus LAN / Cisco Catalyst & Lancom)

Location: 100% remote from Poland; multiple Polish locations listed.

Rate: 160–200 PLN/h net on a B2B contract, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Operate the Campus LAN product end to end on Cisco Catalyst and support the upcoming Lancom rollout.
• Configure, administer, troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain Cisco Catalyst switching, including VLANs, STP, StackWise, PoE and NAC.
• Manage hardware, licences, CMDB data, asset lifecycles, firmware upgrades and maintenance windows.
• Handle 2nd- and 3rd-level incidents, problem management, root-cause analysis and major-incident support.
• Monitor services with CheckMK and Splunk, maintain syslog configurations, and report on availability, capacity, MTBF and MTTR.
• Run vulnerability remediation, support audits, improve automation and documentation, and mentor nearshore engineers.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating campus networks based on Cisco Catalyst.
• CCNA or CCNP Enterprise certification, or equivalent.
• Experience leading or coaching network engineering teams, including onboarding and coordinating nearshore resources.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience maintaining operational documentation and knowledge management.
• Solid understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Knowledge, Configuration, Event, Availability and Capacity Management in a regulated environment.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• An existing one-person company registered in Poland is required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Hands-on Lancom experience, ideally with an LCSP or similar certification.
• ITIL certification.
• Network automation with Ansible and Python, plus CheckMK experience.
• Banking or financial-services experience.
