Embedded Systems Engineering Internship

Location: On-site at Billund Project House, Billund, Denmark. The internship runs full time for five months from February 2027 through the end of June 2027, with possible summer extension.

hirify.global’s Creative Play Lab develops new physical play experiences through creative experimentation, advanced technologies, multidisciplinary collaboration, prototyping, and product development.

What you will do

• Participate in product development projects and technical exploration.
• Develop prototypes that demonstrate or validate new embedded technologies.
• Extend and improve support tools used during hardware and embedded systems development.
• Investigate bugs in depth and create reliable reproduction methods.
• Help build or extend wireless test harnesses for development validation.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, embedded software engineers, creatives, researchers, and technologists to develop playable prototypes.

Requirements

• Must be over 18, enrolled as a higher-education student for the full internship period, and due to graduate after the internship ends.
• The internship must be a compulsory part of the education and contribute quantitatively toward course credit.
• Must be available full time from February 2027 through the stated end date and able to work on-site in Billund, Denmark.
• Must not request a delayed graduation date solely to qualify for the internship.
• Curiosity, bravery, focus, teamwork, openness to feedback, and comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git or other source code revision control systems.
• Experience with embedded firmware and microcontrollers.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Experience with wireless connectivity solutions such as Bluetooth.
• Experience with hardware interfaces including I2C, SPI, and UART.
