Embedded Platform Engineer (IoT)

Location: Copenhagen; onsite. Applicants eager to move to Denmark are welcome if they already have the legal right to live and work in Denmark.

What you will do

• Develop hirify.global EDGE's Yocto-based embedded Linux distribution, including layers, BSPs, kernel configuration, and reproducible builds.
• Build and maintain Rust components, bring up new hardware, debug on target, and keep devices secure and maintainable over long lifetimes.
• Own device provisioning, over-the-air updates, staged rollouts, health checks, recovery paths, and fleet observability.
• Collaborate with ML and vision engineers on camera pipelines, video streaming, model inference, packaging, rollout, rollback, and drift monitoring.
• Maintain CI and on-hardware testing and diagnose field issues with Support, Product, Cloud, and DevOps.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience shipping embedded Linux to production, including Yocto layers, BSPs, and images built and maintained independently.
• Strong systems programming in Rust, or deep embedded Linux experience in C/C++ with practical exposure to Rust.
• Experience with embedded security and update mechanisms, including signed images, A/B or similar update schemes, and secure device provisioning.
• Ability to work independently on loosely defined problems, involve collaborators early, and take responsibility for releases and rollouts.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to engineers, Support, and customers.
• Fluent English and the legal right to live and work in Denmark.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS IoT Core or Greengrass, video pipelines, ML inference on edge hardware, or industrial environments with unattended devices.
