Senior DevOps Engineer (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Letterkenny, Ireland; hybrid schedule with work from home up to 2 days per week depending on team needs

What you will do

• Design, provision, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, templates, and standardized patterns using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Build and operate Docker and Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service platforms.
• Design and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, automate environment provisioning and application delivery, and improve developer experience.
• Develop PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar automation to replace repetitive manual work.
• Implement secure identity, access, secrets, certificates, compliance controls, and resilient platform architectures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a Senior DevOps, Cloud, Platform, Infrastructure Engineering, or DevOps role.
• Strong practical Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure networking, compute, storage, identity, RBAC, DNS, certificates, secrets, private connectivity, and Azure Landing Zones.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform; Bicep or ARM experience is beneficial.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service, Ansible, Linux administration, and RHEL Linux or equivalent.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages; Git, pull requests, source control, and code review.
• Experience supporting Dev/Test/Prod environments, highly available or business-critical platforms, disaster recovery, multi-region architectures, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps, policy-as-code, automated compliance, messaging, integrations, APIs, databases, or distributed platforms.
• Previous experience troubleshooting Java applications and working in Agile/Scrum engineering environments.
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500, or AZ-700.

Nice to have

• AWS experience, particularly with workloads being migrated from AWS to Azure.
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and LDAP.
• Knowledge of Terraform, Agile, high availability, resiliency, scalability, ITIL, operational requirements, and support.
