Infrastructure Engineer, Data

Location: Remote role associated with Warsaw, Poland; Dublin, Ireland; or London, UK.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and other databases in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
• Partner with engineering to resolve challenges in large-scale, highly available database infrastructure.
• Lead migrations of database services from virtual machines to Kubernetes with minimal downtime.
• Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise databases.
• Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially Linux-based systems.
• Expertise in at least one deployment or orchestration technology: Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform, with a focus on stateful applications.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or a similar language for workflow automation and infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience managing at least one relational database, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

Nice to have

• Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores.
• Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring distributed deployments.
• Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar observability tools.
• Knowledge of Consul or similar service discovery technologies.
