Maps Quality Tester - English (Austin)

Location: Austin, Texas; remote work from home in Austin. Working hours: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM CST.

Pay rate: $23/hour.

What you will do

• Test maps and web-based mapping products for a leading consumer technology company.
• Use mobile navigation applications and assess map experiences from the user’s perspective.
• Work with the development team to support the quality of released applications.
• Analyze complex issues and produce clear, concise reports.
• Work with data and spreadsheets to support testing activities.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of maps and web-based mapping products.
• Familiarity with mobile navigation for driving, such as Apple Maps and Google Maps.
• Experience working with data and spreadsheets.
• Ability to think creatively, understand user perspectives, and solve problems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work remotely without direct supervision.
• Ability to explain technical details in clear and concise reports.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Must be based in Austin.

Nice to have

• Background in GIS or previous maps experience.
• Proficiency with iOS and macOS.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Geography, Cartography, or a related field.
• Experience as an avid cyclist tracking performance across different routes.
