Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE; onsite role

What you will do

• Develop and deploy scalable data-driven solutions for customer use cases in oil and gas, manufacturing, and power and utilities.
• Lead use-case generation and discovery workshops with subject matter experts and customers.
• Perform data cleansing, exploratory data analysis, and implementation of physical and machine learning models in Python.
• Deploy models to the model-hosting environment and apply GenAI techniques to improve data-driven decision-making.
• Build solution dashboards with Grafana, Power BI, Plotly, or Dash, and contribute to reusable templates and best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineers, project managers, and solution architects; support customers and partners and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Master of Science in a quantitative field or in mechanical, systems, electrical, or industrial engineering.
• 5+ years of full-time experience as a data scientist, preferably in a related industry, including experience in energy and oil and gas, maintenance, or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience using Python in a production setting is preferred.
• Experience with machine learning methods and techniques, statistics, and/or optimization.
• Experience with Git and with customer-facing work involving external customers.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, deliver independently, and coach and mentor others internally.
• Ability to handle challenges, set ambitious goals, ask for help, and share knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with managed cloud services such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Domain knowledge of oil and gas asset performance management, including production optimization.
