TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer, Fluids & Packaging (Aerospace): Developing fluid-system mechanical hardware and packaging solutions for autonomous defense platforms with an accent on CAD, prototyping, integration, manufacturability, and hands-on testing. Focus on resolving packaging constraints, defining mechanical interfaces, driving tolerance and part-selection decisions, and integrating hardware for aerospace and launch-system platforms.

Location: Victorville, California, United States. The role requires availability for extended hours and weekends as needed. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. authorizations under ITAR.

Salary: $105,000–$180,000 USD base salary, plus potential performance incentives and equity.

Company

Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology startup developing autonomous defense platforms and decentralized systems for the United States and its allies.

What you will do

  • Design fluid-system hardware and mechanical packaging for KV and LASR platforms, with additional packaging needs for CONEX or VLS.
  • Create 3D CAD models, drawings, and interface definitions for mechanical assemblies.
  • Evaluate routing, packaging constraints, clearances, serviceability, and system interfaces.
  • Support prototyping, fit checks, hardware integration, and hands-on testing.
  • Drive manufacturability, part selection, and tolerance stack-up decisions.
  • Contribute to test plans, technical documentation, engineering reviews, and critical project milestones.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including fluid systems, mechanical packaging, or both.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, such as NX or SolidWorks.
  • Experience developing and integrating mechanical hardware.
  • Ability to resolve packaging constraints and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with flight hardware or aerospace fluid systems.
  • Experience packaging hardware for vehicle or launch-system integration.
  • Familiarity with fluid analysis, thermal management, or pressure-system design.
  • Experience with FEA or other engineering analysis tools.

Culture & Benefits

  • Startup agility with approximately 350 employees and a focus on rapid manufacturing and innovation.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings, and paid time off.
  • Performance-based incentives and equity participation may be included.
  • Funding for continuing education, training, and professional development.
  • Employment authorization is verified through E-Verify, and offers may depend on authorization to access export-controlled technology without an export license.
