Senior Staff High Throughput Product Technical Lead (Genomics)

Location: San Diego, California, United States

Base salary: $155,600–$233,400 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical and strategic lead for assigned high-throughput sequencing platforms, driving platform health, performance, and lifecycle strategy.
• Develop an integrated view of quality, reliability, serviceability, customer experience, operational performance, and business outcomes.
• Translate customer feedback, field insights, operational data, and product trends into prioritized platform improvements.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to identify, prioritize, and resolve systemic product issues and emerging platform risks.
• Drive lifecycle planning covering enhancements, service strategy, cost optimization, obsolescence, and end-of-support planning.
• Lead On-Market Core Teams and decision forums, communicate platform risks and investment recommendations to senior leadership, and incorporate on-market learnings into future designs and roadmaps.

Requirements

• Strong systems-level understanding of integrated product ecosystems spanning hardware, consumables, software, service, and operational workflows.
• Experience driving product quality, reliability, lifecycle management, or post-market sustainment initiatives.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and align technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders around strategic priorities.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, risk management frameworks, and regulated product development environments.
• Experience translating technical issues, customer insights, and field data into strategic business decisions and investment recommendations.
• Proven experience leading complex product, platform, or portfolio strategies in a highly matrixed environment.
• Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, field service, customer support, and commercial operations.
• Typically, at least 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a Master’s degree, or 5 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with next-generation sequencing products and platforms.
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated product development processes, design controls, and post-market requirements.
