Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; onsite at least 4 days per week

Salary: $164,800–$247,200 USD annually; applicable to U.S. locations excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end electrical engineering for a next-generation renal denervation RF ablation generator, from concept and architecture through circuit card design, fabrication, verification, validation, characterization, integration, and lifecycle support.
• Own electrical systems development, requirements decomposition, integration testing, and design characterization.
• Represent electrical engineering in the RF generator workstream and serve as the technical owner for design decisions, trade studies, reviews, priorities, and issue resolution.
• Lead planning, delegation, scheduling, dependencies, project execution, and scrum facilitation for electrical engineering activities.
• Lead electrical and system risk management, including FMEAs, hazard analyses, risk mitigation, design controls, quality, regulatory, safety, and reliability compliance.
• Partner with systems, software, manufacturing, quality, and program teams; support design transfer and mentor engineers across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical systems engineering experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with 8 years of experience or a PhD with 6 years of experience.
• For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
• The role is onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota, with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of an office role, including independent mobility, computer use, and communication with colleagues; reasonable accommodations are available.

Nice to have

• Electromechanical systems or capital equipment experience, including hardware and software integration.
• Technical leadership experience.
• Experience with IEC 60601-1 or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with RF energy delivery, SOMs, or FPGA.
• Experience with ISO 14971.
• Experience in product concept development, customer interaction, systems engineering, engineering-requirement verification, and validation of customer needs and design requirements.
