Senior Consultant, Public Affairs (Banking)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site at Toronto-81 Bay, 33rd Floor

What you will do

• Develop and own proactive public relations plans supporting the bank’s growth initiatives, products, services, and stakeholder topics.
• Build and maintain media relationships and promote hirify.global’s capabilities, insights, advice, reputation, and corporate story.
• Support executive communications for senior bank leaders and prepare spokespeople to deliver strategic messaging.
• Write communication plans, media releases, social content, briefing documents, and key messages.
• Identify, assess, and manage reputation risks and opportunities while working with communications partners across the bank.
• Advise leaders on the approach, tone, content, and timing of communications.

Requirements

• Solid experience in media relations, social media, and managing complex communication challenges.
• Degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, writing, critical thinking, relationship-building, and strategic judgment skills.
• Ability to take ownership, lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and deliver results.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

• Experience in or knowledge of banking and its diversified client segments.
