What you will do

• Lead high-impact production AI initiatives including Maia, the Context Engine, and AI drafts.
• Design, architect, review, and launch AI projects with evaluation and guardrail systems.
• Improve AI quality, reliability, evaluation coverage, observability, and regression detection.
• Shape company-wide architecture and own major decisions for AI systems and the shared AI platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Operations, and engineering peers on customer-facing systems.
• Own organization-level initiatives such as AI evaluation standards, agentic SDLC improvements, code review practices, or documentation culture.

Requirements

• Staff-level experience as a hands-on IC leading large, ambiguous initiatives, delivery, tradeoffs, and major architectural decisions across teams.
• Experience designing and delivering production LLM agents or generative features used by real customers.
• Technical leadership experience improving engineering practices, influencing peers, and resolving complex decisions with Product, Design, and engineering leadership.
• Experience building production AI evaluation systems using automated tests, agent traces, human feedback, and production monitoring.
• Ability to design safe agent and tool boundaries, human handoffs, and pragmatic build-versus-buy and model-provider decisions while managing reliability, security, latency, and cost.
• Strong backend and platform engineering skills with Python, Django, Postgres, Redis, async workers, and REST or GraphQL.
• Ability to design shared AI infrastructure with clear contracts, caching, and tenant isolation.
