AI Insurance Process Specialist

Location: Remote

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience

What you will do

• Evaluate AI performance by reviewing extracted healthcare-document information and AI actions during online and phone workflows.
• Identify errors, missing information, human-review cases, and opportunities to improve automation.
• Annotate documents and forms, label fields, map information to submission requirements, and create AI evaluation examples.
• Build and maintain workflows, decision trees, process guides, and quality standards for prior authorization, eligibility verification, and benefit checks.
• Research payer rules, documentation, submission methods, and follow-up procedures; document sources and flag unclear or conflicting guidance.
• Track accuracy, completeness, successful submissions, human intervention, and daily AI configuration changes.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including the ability to identify inconsistencies and investigate their causes.
• Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear steps, decision points, and exceptions.
• Systems mindset and understanding of how workflow changes affect downstream work.
• Strong research skills and sound judgment about verified information, assumptions, and items requiring clarification.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to document precise, repeatable instructions.
• Ability to execute tasks efficiently, own outcomes, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• Curiosity about AI, healthcare operations, and insurance workflows.
• Technical and nontechnical backgrounds are welcome, including recent graduates.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare administration, prior authorization, or insurance verification.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, or AI tools.
